Throughout the year, the Hornell YMCA sponsors several special events that are open to anyone who wishes to participate:

 

YMCA Golf tournament - This tournament is held in June at Twin Hickory Golf Course in Hornell. It is a 4 man captain and crew format with many great prizes and plenty of fun.

Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball Tournament - Every July, Gus Macker returns to take over Main Street in downtown Hornell. Age groups for the tournament start at 10 and under and go up to 40+.

NFL Punt Pass & Kick - This competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 6-15. The NFL PP & K football competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing and place kicking the football, with scores based on distance and accuracy. Age classification is as of December 31 of the current year.

5K Turkey Trot Run and Walk - This 3.1 mile race is run on Thanksgiving morning with over 500 participants each year. Many participants have made this part of their Thanksgiving tradition. This is a certified race route that starts and finishes in front of the YMCA.
