YMCA Aquatic success!
"I just wanted to take a minute to pass on praise for a few of your swim instructors. My son has been blessed to have a few exceptional instructors at the Y. We loved Mr. Rory when our son started taking lessons at the new pool last year. He grew so much with him as a teacher, we were so sad to see him go. We were so fortunate to then have Mr. Mitchell for several sessions. He is an exceptional instructor and young man. Patient, caring, knowledgeable, invested, etc. I could go on and on. It is rare to have an instructor as well rounded as Mitchell. He is great at anticipating potential issues, keeping the students engaged and differentiating instruction. He makes my son feel special every time he sees him - even though he is no longer his instructor. I feel blessed that my child has him as a role model. Most recently, we have had Miss Dallas as our son's instructor. She is wonderful! She pushes the students to grow every class. I am confident that in the years to come, our son will strive to become a life guard and it will be in large part b/c of these dynamic instructors. Please share our praise with your team. Too often in life, we only hear when we aren't doing something well. These young people are fantastic and I hope that they know how appreciated they are."

"I swim here at the Hornell Y every day. The facility is clean, attractive and the staff are very helpful and encouraging. I am reaching my goal through the support, encouragement and instruction from Bill DeMarr, an aquatics safety team instructor, I tell everyone just how wonderful the YMCA programs and staff are and encourage everyone to come to the YMCA for physical fitness, health and wellness."

"It is hard to know where to begin to describe the benefits I have gained since the pool opened. I started out swimming about a length of the pool and was soon up to 12. I stayed there for a while and decided I needed to push myself a little harder, so I worked up to ¼ mile, then 1/3 mile. I am now swimming a mile, that is 66 lengths of the pool, usually 5 days a week. Another major benefit is improved balance, vastly improved. I think it is mostly due to the noodle work in the water fitness classes. I love the pool and am so thankful to have such a great facility in Hornell."
