Individual music lessons are available on an ongoing basis in piano, voice, guitar, brass, woodwinds, strings, and percussion. We also have instructors available for specialized instruments such as classical fiddle and folk instruments. Half-hour individual lessons cost $18 for Y members and $20 for program participants. Our KidPiano and KidDrums programs offer individual instruction for young beginners for $10/week.
Group art and music classes are also available and generally run for 4-8 weeks. Our music classes begin with Music, My Grownup, & ME! for children ages 0-5; progress to group instruction in piano, guitar, fiddle and voice for youth and teens; and continue with group music classes for older teens and adults. Art classes for youth include general art classes and topic-based classes like Art Around the World, Art Journaling, and sculpture. Classes for older teens and adults focus on techniques like oil painting, watercolor, jewelry-making, or felting. All supplies are included in the cost of our art classes.
Workshops are also offered throughout the year. Lasting from two hours to a whole day, workshops are a great way to explore a new technique, from kids’ workshops like Galaxy Bleach Dyeing to jewelry-making and sewing workshops for adults.
