JL Basketball Camp

From junior biddy up to the varsity high school team, no matter what level you play at, you will leave this camp a better basketball player. With the perfect mix of skill development and games, each camper will receive the age-appropriate coaching that they need. This week-long camp is for boys and girls ages 8 - 17 years during the last week of July.

Run for the Shamrock 5K

This 3.1-mile race is run on St. Patrick's Day morning with over 500 participants each year. This race kicks off a day of Irish celebration in the city of Hornell as it proceeds the annual parade. There are seven different age divisions for the run and four different age groups for the walk. This is a certified race route that starts and finishes in front of the Hornell Area Family YMCA.

Turkey Trot 5k

This 3.1-mile race is held every year on Thanksgiving morning. Many participants have made this part of their Thanksgiving Day tradition. This is a certified race route that starts and finishes in front of the Hornell Area Family YMCA.

Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

The Gus Macker basketball tournament is one of the Hornell YMCA's major fundraisers and has become one of Hornell's featured downtown events. It's almost like an unofficial alumni weekend where many participants and spectators come back to town just for Macker weekend. This event is always held the last weekend in July.
