Before & After School Childcare

The Y operates a before and after-school childcare program at the Wayland Elementary School and after-school programs at the Y, Canisteo Elementary School, Arkport Central School, and Alfred-Almond Central School.

These are NYS licensed programs developed by the Y to foster a child's personal, physical, and emotional growth. Our programs encourage children to build friendships with children from different schools and backgrounds, foster self-confidence and independence and allow each child to learn the importance of caring and sharing with others. Children enjoy arts and crafts, gym activities, games, stories, and homework help. Children at our Hornell program receive regular art and swim time. Breakfast is offered in the Wayland morning program. A nutritious snack is served daily in all programs.

Do you need Childcare Assistance?

The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Eligibility Questionnaire is available to parents and caretakers! This screening tool allows parents and caretakers to answer a few questions to see if they qualify for low or no-cost child care. Most of the questions are yes or no questions and it takes 10 minutes or less to complete.
